The Newark Area Welfare Committee is an all-volunteer, non-profit, 501 (C) (3) charitable organization based out of Newark, DE.
The Newark Area Welfare Committee works to serve the community with our Emergency Assistance Program, Food Cupboard, Holiday Food Boxes, and Shoes for In-Need Children Programs. Additional information about each program can be found in the Programs folder.
Our organization operates solely from donations from local individuals and businesses, charitable and service clubs, and grants from the City of Newark. We also receive funds from the State of Delaware, the Wilmington Flower Market, Good Neighbor Day, the New Castle County Council, proceeds from sales of our Bean Soup mix, The Christmas Shop, and responses from our annual appeal letter.
